GURUGRAM: A 24-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries on Saturday morning after being hit by a CNG auto rickshaw on Pataudi road earlier this week.
On December 19, Arushi was returning home after shopping at Sadar Bazar. As she got down from the tempo on Pataudi Road, she was hit by a speeding auto, following which she fell to the ground on a boulder.
She was rushed to a hospital by passersby where she was discharged early on.
Arushi’s brother Amit told police that his sister started complaining of pain in her stomach on December 22 following which she was taken to the hospital. The hospital referred her to the Civil hospital in Sector 10 and it further referred her to Delhi's Safdarjung hospital where she died during the treatment.
Amit told the cops that his sister died of an infection and multiple organ failure due to the injuries suffered during the accident.
Based on his complaint, the auto driver has been booked under IPC under sections 279 (rash driving or riding on the public way) and 304 A (whoever causes the death of any person by doing any rash or negligent act) at Shivaji Nagar police station.
“We are collecting footage from the CCTV cameras installed in the nearby areas in order to identify and trace the auto driver,” said a police officer.
